La inteligencia artificial (IA) en la educación superior (ES) tiene un gran potencial para transformar la forma de enseñanza y el aprendizaje en estas instituciones, puede mejorar la eficiencia de la enseñanza y proporcionar una experiencia de aprendizaje personalizado a cada estudiante. También plantea desafíos y preocupaciones, como la posibilidad de sesgos algorítmicos y la sustitución de los docentes. La IA está cambiando el papel del docente en la ES, ellos pueden centrarse más en la tutoría y el apoyo individualizado de sus estudiantes, y menos en las tareas repetitivas de enseñanza y evaluación. Respecto a los desarrollos en el uso de la IA en la ES, se ha observado un aumento en la incorporación de la IA en las instituciones de ES en los últimos años, entre otros, chatbots, asistentes virtuales, tutoriales inteligentes y análisis de datos para mejorar la eficiencia de la enseñanza y el aprendizaje. Se concluye que la IA tiene el potencial de mejorar la ES, pero es importante abordar sus desafíos y preocupaciones, y garantizar que se utilice de manera ética y efectiva para ayudar a los estudiantes a alcanzar su máximo potencial.
Artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education (HE) has great potential to transform the way teaching and learning takes place in these institutions. AI can improve teaching efficiency and provide a personalised learn-ing experience for each student. It also raises challenges and concerns, such as the possibility of algorithmic bias and teacher substitution. AI is changing the role of the teacher in HE, they can focus more on tutoring and indi-vidualised support for their students, and less on repetitive teaching and assessment tasks. Regarding developments in the use of AI in HE, there has been an increase in the incorporation of AI in HE institutions in recent years, including chatbots, virtual assistants, intelligent tutorials and data analytics to improve the efficiency of teaching and learning. It is concluded that AI has the potential to improve HE, but it is important to address its challenges and concerns, and to ensure that it is used ethically and effectively to help students reach their full potential.
