This article deals with the scientific performance of universityteachersin mozambique, and its general objective is to analyze the performance of the university teachers of the universities in the City of Maputo and Beira. In a university, the teacher represents the biggest factor of differentiation comparing it withthe other participants of a university. Emphasizing the human factor is the key to the success of organizations in the specific case of a university since it is through the competencies and attitudes of teachers and researchers that the institutions are able to respond to the pressures of a current and ever changing world and to achieve the desired results. The aim of this work is to show the need of teachers to develop their own scientific materials in order to improve the bibliographic collection and to emphasize that publishing scientific materials is to disseminate science and is also a way of complementing education that, in most cases, Occurs in a deficient way or at present by what we see in the Mozambican libraries, especially in the city of Beira and Maputo, there are very few works by Mozambican authors. It is these facts that have led us to choose a theme that seeks to create conditions or incentives for Mozambican authors to produce more works in the country or outside the country. Lack of resources and lack of time are the main reasons highlighted as the main obstacles in the production of scientific material. The study concluded that 37.1% of the teachers interviewed stated that they had already published their own material. In turn, only 3.25% of the teachers provided complete data capable of confirming the veracity of their own publications. In turn, 20.27% presented insufficient data, that is, they did not present data capable of proving the existence of their works. It was also verified that 15.3% of the respondents did not provide any kind of details about the publications, which leads us to conclude that they did not publish any type of scientific material.
O presente artigo aborda sobre Desempenho científico dos docentes universitários na Cidade de Maputo e Beira, e tem como objectivo geral analisar desempenho dos docentes universitários das Universidades na Cidade de Maputo e Beira.. O estudo concluiu que 37.1% dos docentes inquiridos afirmou já ter publicado material da sua própria autoria, por sua vez, apenas 3.25% dos docentes disponibilizou dados completos capazes de confirmar a veracidade das publicações da sua autoria. Por sua vez, 20.27% apresentou dados insuficientes, isto é, os mesmos não apresentaram dados capazes de comprovar a existência das suas obras.
