This article analyzes the articulation between psychic and spiritual dimensions in a psychotherapeutic process. It presents a descriptive case study, from aphenomenological-existential perspective, of a patient diagnosed with cancer. The approach seeks to understand her distress through psychological meaning and existential sense, with both restorative and transformative aims. The Purpose in Life Test (PIL) and a phenomenological-existential analysis of a dream selected by the patient were used. The results show convergence between both techniques: a significant presence of purpose in life, together with tensions related to control, autonomy, and finitude. The psychotherapeutic work contributed to the redefinition of priorities, self-care, and the construction of more reciprocal relationships.
