The COVID‑19 pandemic brought profound transformations to the educational field, significantly impacting teaching practices across different areas of knowledge. In the context of school Physical Education, these changes imposed specific challenges, particularly due to the bodily and practical characteristics that define this discipline. This is a qualitative study, with a descriptive and exploratory approach, conducted with 16 teachers whose data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed in light of the literature and content analysis. The results highlight the teachers’ limited or nonexistent prior experience with remote teaching, the intensification of workload, the need to adapt to digital technologies, and the difficulties related to student participation, mainly due to inequalities in access to devices and the internet. It is concluded that, despite the development of new technological competencies, remote Physical Education teaching presented limitations regarding student engagement and pedagogical effectiveness.
