This work presents a literature review of academic and scientific publications from 2019 to 2023 that address the school education of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Basic Education. Based on a survey of the CAPES Periodicals Portal, 33 articles were analyzed that discuss aspects related to teacher training, inclusive pedagogical practices, and institutional conditions that interfere in the schooling process of this population. From this review, the work aimed to identify the main theoretical contributions, methodological approaches, and gaps still present in the literature, with the intention of broadening the understanding of the challenges and possibilities of school inclusion for this population, as well as providing support for teacher training and practice. The studies analyzed demonstrated a significant gap in the theoretical and formative knowledge of teachers regarding school inclusion, highlighting the need to invest in initial and ongoing training that equips them with truly inclusive pedagogical practices that recognize and value the potential of children with ASD, based on equity and the right of all to good education, learning, and social participation.
