This study aims to understand how inclusion support professionals from the municipality of Horizonte (CE) perceive their role within the school environment. It is a qualitative study that used semi-structured interviews as the data collection instrument. The participants were four support professionals who have been working for at least one year in the public education system. The study revealed that, although they recognize their role as fundamental to building an inclusive school, these professionals face several challenges, such as the lack of clear legislation defining their responsibilities, limited professional recognition, and, above all, the invisibility of their work within the school context. Thus, the study highlights the need for regulations that value and acknowledge the professional practices of these workers.
