This article presents the experience of CineQueer, a film showcase organized by the Gender and Sexual Diversity Center (NUGEDS) at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceará – Sobral campus, during the 1st LGBTQIAPN+ Pride Week in June 2025. Inspired by the legacy of the Stonewall Riots, the initiative aimed to promote visibility and critical reflection on LGBTQIAPN+ experiences through cinema. The event featured three films followed by debates, addressing lesbian, gay, and trans narratives. Despite low attendance—due to thematic resistance, scheduling issues, and limited outreach—the activity demonstrated the pedagogical and political potential of cinema. Grounded in theorists such as Apple (1982), Louro (2018), and Tiburi (2015), the article discusses how the hidden curriculum reinforces cisheteronormativity and how cultural actions can challenge this structure. CineQueer exemplifies how inclusive educational practices can transform academic spaces into environments of empathy, dialogue, and resistance.
