El sexting es el intercambio de información mediante imágenes, mensajes o videos con contenido sexual, por medio de dispositivos electrónicos. Los estudios sobre el tema, desde una perspectiva positiva, son escasos, dado que en su mayoría son abordados desde un enfoque legal y con relación al riesgo psicológico. Al respecto, se realizó un estudio cuantitativo y correlacional en 970 jóvenes universitarios, con el objetivo de analizar la conducta de “sextear” y su bienestar subjetivo. Se empleó la escala de conducta sobre sexting (ECS) y la escala de afecto positivo y afecto negativo (PNA-10). Se aprecian asociaciones entre afectos positivos, negativos y el sexting, y que los hombres muestran mayor disposición que las mujeres hacia la práctica del “sexteo”, pero, en cuanto a la expresión emocional y a la Práctica Real del Sexting (PRS), no se encontraron diferencia entre géneros.
Sexting is the exchange of information through images, messages, or videos with sexual content via electronic devices. Studies on the subject from a positive perspective are scarce, given that most approach it from a legal standpoint and in relation to psychological risk. In this regard, a quantitative and correlational study was conducted on 970 university students, with the aim of analyzing sexting behavior and subjective well-being. The Sexting Behavior Scale (ECS) and the Positive and Negative Affect Scale (PNA-10) were used. Associations were found between positive and negative affect and sexting, and men showed a greater willingness than women to engage in sexting, but no gender differences were found in terms of emotional expression and actual sexting practice (ASP).
