The article presented is a compilation of legal bases for intercultural education in Guatemala. The existing problem is at the local and national level. It is the need to integrate intercultural education from three perspectives into the career curriculum, first respect for customs, second bilingualism and third natural medicine as therapeutic treatment. Given that few medical graduates migrate to work in other countries, on the contrary, most work in the Maya Chortí region of Guatemala, with little or no intercultural training. To achieve this, future health professionals must train to learn more about the customs of the peoples, and at least greet in the language of the region. Through intercultural education, you will have a complete vision of the ancestral health practices of indigenous peoples, according to their beliefs. The question then arises, do national and international laws and regulations establish intercultural education? To respond, a bibliographic compilation was carried out, based initially on the background of the teaching of vernacular languages in Guatemala, the regulations and norms of the University of San Carlos, and national and international laws.
