Conductismo y Etología: entre una caja negra y el ecosistema para entender el comportamiento

    Trazamos en este ensayo algunas de las líneas directrices en el desarrollo de la visión conductista y etológica en relación al estudio del comportamiento. Señalamos como crítica la importancia asignada a los componentes innatos o adquiridos en dichos abordajes. Postulamos que parte de la explicación se debe al relativo aislamiento geográfico e idiomático en que se encontraban, por lo menos inicialmente, los principales actores de estos eventos. Proponemos una suerte de herencia del mecanicismo-renovador por parte del conductismo, y un asumir de la continuidad del vitalismo-conservador (completamente redefinido), por parte de la etología. Al día de hoy resulta de importancia continuar teniendo presente la historia de dicho diálogo disciplinar para poder evaluar la naturaleza de las principales tendencias en el estudio del comportamiento.

    In this essay we outline some of the guidelines in the development of the behaviorist and ethological vision in relation to the study of behavior. We point out as a criticism the importance assigned to innate or acquired components in these approaches. We postulate that part of the explanation is due to the relative geographic and idiomatic isolation in which, at least initially, the main actors of these events were found. We propose a sort of inheritance of mechanicism-renewed on the part of behaviorism, and an assumption of the continuity of vitalism-conservatism (completely redefined), on the part of ethology.

    At present, it is important to continue to keep in mind the history of this disciplinary dialogue in order to evaluate the nature of the main trends in the study of behavior.
