    La solución al problema «mente-cuerpo» que Sigmund Freud empleó ha sido objeto de discusión historiográfica. Frente a las interpretaciones que sugieren que Freud esperaba, discretamente, en poder algún día reducir su teoría psicoanalítica a procesos cerebrales, se ofrece una serie de ejemplos a lo largo de la obra del padre del psicoanálisis en los cuales discrepa de semejante idea. Asimismo, se plantea como alternativa que la concepción del alma que tenía Freud es heredera de múltiples contribuciones por parte de los vitalistas románticos decimonónicos, especialmente Fechner.

    The solution to the «mind-body» problem that Sigmund Freud used has been matter of historiographical discussion. In contrast to interpretations that suggest that Freud discreetly hoped to one day be able to reduce his psychoanalytic theory to brain processes, a series of examples are offered throughout the work of the father of psychoanalysis in which he disagrees with such an idea. Likewise, it is proposed as an alternative that Freud’s conception of the soul is the heir of multiple contributions by the 19th century romantic vitalists, especially Fechner.
