Su obligatoriedad hace que perdamos nuestra fisonomía y nuestro sentimiento de identidad.
Pero bajo esta aparente uniformidad, debajo de la mascarilla se encuentran muchas diferencias subjetivas, incluidas las económicas.
Nuestra tarea profesional es ayudar a expresar y elaborar las angustias por el temible contagio, el dolor de las pérdidas y las emociones que puede generar el colocarse la mascarilla sobre el rostro, que no solo lo tapa sino que tiene el poder de revelar sus aspectos reprimidos.
Esto explicaría otros motivos más del rechazo a enmascararse.
Face masks as well as helping us to keep social distance, represent our trenches on this war against covid 19 Its compulsive use hides our physiognomy and with that we might as well loose our sense of identity.
However, on this apparent uniformity under the face mask we can find many subjective differences including the economic ones.
As clinicians , our task aims at helping our patients/clients to express and work through their anxieties to become infected by the virus as well as their emotions triggered by wearing a mask.
A mask that as well as covering, it might have the power to reveal what is repressed and in that way it could also explain the resistance to wear it.
