The present study reviews the existent research (k = 10, n = 2731) and uses meta-analytical controls to obtain the best estimates of effect sizes on the relationship between EI and CWB. This meta-analysis showed that an effect size of medium-high significance (r = .348) exists on the negative relationship between the constructs. The results have implications regarding the importance for organizations to recruit employees high on EI in order to mitigate the harmful effects of CWB.
