El objetivo principal del presente artículo consiste en analizar, desde la perspectiva de la historia intelectual, algunas características de las primeras ofertas de asistencia psicológica a las víctimas de la represión estatal generadas durante la última dictadura en Argentina. Particularmente, procuraremos indagar los vínculos de esos psicólogos, psicoanalistas y psiquiatras con organizaciones profesionales y de derechos humanos; el tipo de prácticas que llevaron adelante y las concepciones que utilizaban y construían para pensar y aliviar el padecimiento. A la luz de estos rasgos, se intentará establecer un nuevo balance sobre la situación y el destino del movimiento de la salud mental en Argentina desde 1980 hasta el presente.
The main objective of this article is to analyze, from the perspective of intellectual history, some characteristics of the first offers of psychological assistance to victims of state repression generated during the last dictatorship in Argentina. In particular, we will try to investigate the links of these psychologists, psychoanalysts and psychiatrists with professional and human rights organizations; the type of practices that they carried out and the conceptions that they used and built to think about and alleviate the suffering. In light of these features, we try to establish a new balance on the situation and destiny of the mental health movement in Argentina from 1980 to the present.
