s enclave son unidades de escolarización ubicadas en centros ordinarios en las que se proporciona respuesta educativa exclusivamente al alumnado con necesidades educativas especiales derivadas de discapacidad. Las aulas enclave se distribuyen por zonas, no hay una en cada colegio, quedando lejos del centro que corresponde al domicilio del alumno, es decir, los hermanos/as no van a compartir la misma realidad escolar. Desde el curso 07/08 y hasta el presente curso se lleva a cabo en el aula enclave del CEIP. Cervantes de Las Palmas de G.C. una actividad en la que, una vez al trimestre se invita a los hermanos/ as de nuestros alumnos/as a pasar una jornada escolar completa con nosotros. Los objetivos son: 1) Acercar a los hermanos/as otro aspecto (simplificar) de su hermano/a con discapacidad: su entorno escolar y su forma de desenvolverse lejos del ámbito familiar. 2) Facilitar la relación entre hermanos/as que comparten la realidad en la discapacidad en el seno de sus familias. 3) Abrir la actividad educativa a la familia, a través de los hijos que nos visitan, como una forma de relación y participación familiar. Describiremos la experiencia, y expondremos las implicaciones que ha tenido para los alumnos, sus familias y para la labor docente.
Self-contained units are teaching units located in ordinary school centres which provide an educational response exclusively for pupils with special educational needs derived from discapacity.
Self-contained units are distributed by areas – not every school has one – therefore, not every pupil will have the chance to share the same school reality as their brothers and/or sisters, as they will not be going to the same school centre. Since 2007/2008 school year until the present, a self-contained unit activity has taken place at the CEIP Cervantes in Las Palmas de G. C. once every three months: our pupil’s brothers and sisters are invited to spend a whole school day with us.
The aims to be achieved are: 1) To bring the disabled child’s brothers and sisters closer to another aspect (simplify) the child has: his/her school environment and the way he/she copes with it when away from the family circle. 2) To make easy a relationship between brothers and sisters who share a discapacity reality within the family circle. 3) To open up the educational activity to the family through the children who visit us as a way of family relationship and participation. We shall describe the experience and will set out implications this has had on the children, their families and the teaching.
