Recientes investigaciones sobre la adquisición del pensamiento hipotéticodeductivo en diferentes clases sociales hacen dudar de la universalidad de esta adquisición. La autora sugiere que el desarrollo operatorio no se completa cuando el entorno es culturalmente pobre. Para que se produzca un desarrollo del pensamiento formal es necesario un entorno que favorezca el intercambio de diferentes puntos de vista y la temprana adquisición de una manera de pensar realista. Para comprobar esta hipótesis se lleva a cabo una investigación con adolescentes de diferentes clases socioeconómicas a los que se enfrentó a dos tareas experimentales. Se entrevistó a los sujetos y a sus padres para conocer sus sistemas de representación . Los resultados muestran la importancia de un entorno favorecedor para la adquisición del pensamiento hipotético-deductivo.
Recent research on the acquisition of hypothetic-deductive thinking in different social classes cast doubts on the universality of this acquisition. The author suggests that operational development is not attained fully when the environment is culturally poor.
For formal thinking to develop, it is necessary to have an environment that favours the exchange of different points of views and the early acquisition of a realistic way of thinking. To test this hypothesis, a research study with adolescents from different socioeconomic classes was carried out in which subjects had to complete two experimental tasks. Subjects and their parents were also interviewed in order to find out more about their systems of representation. Results show the importance of a favourable environment for the acquisition of hypothetic-deductive thinking.
