El objetivo fue estudiar la relación existente entre las habilidades genéricas verbales y lógico-matemáticas y los desempeños específicos en las disciplinas de español, ciencias, matemáticas e inglés en estudiantes de educación media superior del estado de Sonora. Se diseñó un instrumento de medición en dos formatos para cuarto y sexto semestre siguiendo los procedimientos propuestos por el Instituto Nacional de Evaluación Educativa para el diseño de pruebas criteriales de gran escala. Se aplicó a una muestra representativa de 3 600 estudiantes ponderando la muestra por modalidad y cuatro regiones. Los resultados de correlación indican que las formas miden aspectos disimiles.
El Colegio de Bachilleres fue la modalidad que obtuvo las medias más altas y, por el contrario, la modalidad con el promedio más bajo fue Conalep
The objective was to study the relationship between generic verbal and logical mathematical abilities and specific performances in the disciplines of Spanish, science, math and English to high schools students in the State of Sonora. A measurement tool in two formats was designed for the fourth and sixth semester following the procedures proposed by theNational Institute of Educative Evaluationfor designing large scale criteria tests. Was applied to a representative samples weighting by mode and four regions, the sample size was 3600 students. The correlation results indicate that the two forms of measurement used have different contents. The Bachelors School (cobach) was the modality that obtained the highest average in the area of skills and performances, also by contrast to the average mode Conalep was the lowest.
