Esta teoría, basada en constructos latinoamericanos, clasifica las creencias delirantes en términos de “auto-engaños de hazañas” (grandiosidad, erotomanía, posesión) y “auto-engaños de hazañas escudo” (persecución, celotipia, pecado, etc). Las hazañas escudo serían conductas ego-defensivas que se realizan para marcar un precedente que amortigue el impacto en el orgullo y en el prestigio social que podría generar un hecho futuro vergonzoso. Una de las más importantes hazañas escudo sería la hazaña escudo pesimista de “darse cuenta”, cuando la anticipación de una futura derrota, operaría como un crédito a favor para soportar mejor su golpe. Se esgrime que la epidemiologia de los factores ambientales de la esquizofrenia resulta coherente con las predicciones de la teoría. Se revisa el caso Aimée, sugiriendo que las hazañas escudo podrían explicar mejor el contenido de los delirios de la paciente de Lacan.
This theory, based on Latin-American constructs, classify delusional beliefs in terms of “self-deceptions of feats” (grandiosity, erotomania, possession) and “self-deceptions of shield feats” (persecution, jealousy, somato-form). The shield feats would be ego-defensive behaviors that are created to make precedent a cushion on the impact on pride and social prestige that make a possible future that causes much fear for their shameful character. One of the most important shield feats is the shield feat of “awareness” where the anticipation of a future defeat or shameful fact operate as a credit to support the blow. The epidemiology of the environmental factors of schizophrenia is consistent with the predictions of the theory. The Aimée case is reviewed, suggesting that the shield feats might better explain the content of Lacan's patient delusions.
