A partir de tres referentes discursivos relacionados entre sí a propósito del atentado que sufrió el diario satírico Charlie Hebdo, el presente artículo indaga sobre las dinámicas sociales que pueden estar jugando en la realización de actos semejantes. Igualmente analiza posiciones y mecanismos de aproximación o de segregación en nuestras sociedades. A partir de ello, visibiliza cómo, contrariamente a sus premisas de “Igualdad, Libertad y Fraternidad”, el discurso de Occidente tiene dificultades para relacionarse con la alteridad que descubren las creencias propias de una cultura diferente.
On the basis of three discursive referents interrelated with respect to the attack on the satirical journal Charlie Hebdo, the article inquires into the social dynamics that may come into play when such acts are perpetrated, and analyzes positions and mechanisms of rapprochement or segregation in our societies. From that perspective, it makes evident how, contrary to the premises of "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity", Western discourse has trouble relating to the alterity revealed by the beliefs of a different culture.
