This article, part of a qualitative research, had the aim of investigating the education of deaf people and their social inclusion. Ten professors, five students and five family members participated of the study. The collection was held through questionnaire with the students and interviews with the family members and professors. The main authors that substantiated the studies were Aranha (2007), Brasil (2001), Carvalho (2007) and Tiba (1996). According to the deaf, the biggest difficulties found in school and in the job market are the lack of accessibility of communication, in other words, language difficulties. It also became clear that the continued reinforcement classes and the study groups contributed significantly to the students’ learning.
Pesquisa qualitativa, com objetivo de investigar a escolaridade de surdos e sua inclusão social. Amostra de 10 professores, 05 alunos surdos e 05 familiares. A coleta ocorreu mediante questionário com alunos e entrevistas com familiares e professores. Os principais autores foram Aranha (2007), Brasil (2001), Carvalho (2007) e Tiba (1996). Segundo os surdos, as maiores dificuldades encontradas no espaço da escola e do mercado de trabalho é a falta de acessibilidade de comunicação. Ficou evidente também que as aulas de reforço contínuo e os grupos de estudo contribuíram significativamente para a aprendizagem dos alunos.
