O autor considera que os posibles efectos iatroxénicos da psicoterapia non recibiron suficiente atención na investigación e ademais argumenta que son sistematicamente ignorados por parte das persoas profesionais da psicoterapia. Analízanse algúns factores que poden influír no pouco interese que xeran estes efectos nas persoas profesionais, considéranse algúns factores que poden influír na deterioración das persoas tratadas e propóñense alternativas para poder minimizar estes efectos. Neste artigo considérase que a monitorización constante de posibles efectos negativos contribúe a minimizalos, á vez que é un factor chave no proceso de aprendizaxe das persoas profesionais da psicoterapia.
The author considers that the possible iatrogenic effects of psychotherapy have not received attention enough in research and further argues that they are systematically ignored by psychotherapists. He analyses some factors that can influence the little interest that these effects generate in psychotherapists, considers some factors that can influence the clients’ deterioration and proposes alternatives to minimise these effects. In this article it is considered that the constant monitoring of possible negative effects contributes to minimize them, while being a key factor in the learning process of professionals.
