Partimos del análisis de la representación oficial del poder encarnado en la figura humana para compararlo con el procedimiento de la caricatura como representación subversiva que cuestiona la figuración del Otro. Mostraremos que la caricatura opera con figuras de estilo que implican a un sujeto que resiste a la figura del amo. El humor iconoclasta de la caricatura política revela una economía psíquica que se juega en la tensión irresoluta entre alienación y emancipación del sujeto con respecto al Otro, garante del lazo social. Sin embargo, al deshacer la figura del amo, el sujeto se juega su propio pellejo.
The article starts out with an analysis of the official representation of power embodied in the human figure in order to compare it to caricature as a subversive representation that questions the representation of the Other. It shows that caricature operates with figures of style that entail a subject who resists the figure of the master. The iconoclastic humor of political caricature reveals a psychic economy that is played out in the unresolved tension between the alienation and the emancipation of the subject with respect to the Other, as guarantor of the social fabric. However, by dismantling the figure of the master, the subject risks his or her own neck.
