Hernán Camilo Pulido Martínez
This article aims at performing a review of critical studies related to both the production of knowledge and to the practice in the field of personnel selection. The studies used in the analysis were selected according to the categories proposed by Pulido-Martínez and Sato (2013) for a critical analysis of psychology with reference to the world of work. Rather than conducting a thorough review of the literature, this article displays examples of the ways in which critical analysis are performed by researchers both inside and outside the discipline. The landscape assembled in this article serves as a guide to those interested in a critical analysis of specific psychological practices carried out in the world of work. The results indicate that even though criticisms are relevant to the work environments around the world, in the current internationalized labour market it is of paramount importance to conduct further analysis of the geopolitical implications that specific practices such as personnel selection might have.
