Children often feel anxiety related to death, because they fear they it or they have no one to talk about it. Parents think of them as too small to understand its meaning, and that by not talking about the matter they can protect them of the suffering of dealing with it. this paper is recognition to the fact that children experience death; and therefore, they need to be educated about the subject, according to their understanding of the concepts of dying and death. The author describes the factors that contributed to the origin of the concept of a death education and the goals it should pursue. Some points of view about the effects that an educational program of this topic could have on the development and functioning of children, are discussed. Finally, recommendations and considerations for a death educational program for children are also provided.
