The author relies on ideas of scientific school of V.V. Davidov about psychological nature of metasubject competence as the form of theoretical thinking. Symmetry principles are considered as intersubject notions that are applied to science and art. The tasks that are based on one of three types of symmetry such as specular, rotation and movement are resulted in. In every task it is supposed to analyze the principle of symmetrical figure making as the definite pattern, and then to choose the correct supplement that type of pattern. The article aims to analyze the testing of three diagnostic tasks for assessing junior students metasubject competence. It is concluded that the tasks that are based on symmetry principles have been suited to use them in the complex of diagnostic techniques of metasubject competence in primary school.
