Freud nos lega la idea (ya clásica) de que la castración, que posibilita un sujeto deseante, abre la ocasión para que un hijo vaya �más allá� del padre. Pero el aspecto renegatorio del fantasma neurótico hace necesario �volver a pasar�: la castración deberá ser actualizada.
Solo entonces ese �más allá�� será un �más lejos� que no se confunda con el �triunfo� de la rivalidad edípica.
Para transmitir la castración es esencial (segundo legado freudiano) un padre capaz de no �creerse� el endiosamiento que se le adjudica, capaz de asumir cuestiones cruciales del hombre: su esencia de hablante-ser hecho de símbolos (y entonces de ausencias y olvidos) implantados en un cuerpo hecho de goces y acuciado por la muerte
Freud bequeaths the (now classic) idea that castration, which makes a desiring subject possible, creates the space for a son to go �beyond� the father. But the renouncing aspect of the neurotic ghost makes it necessary to �pass again�: the castration shall be updated. Only then, that �beyond...� will be a �farther� �farther�, not to be confused with the �success� of Oedipal rivalry. In order to transmit the castration, it is essential (second Freudian legacy) to have a father able not to �believe� the idolization attributed to him, able to take on crucial human matters: his essence of speaker-being made from symbols (and thus, from absences and lapses implanted in a body made of pleasures and haunted by death
