The aim of this study was to analyze the reliability, factorial structure and validity indicators of the Spanish version of the Index of Sexual Satisfaction (ISS). A total of 646 participants filled in the ISS, Sexual Desire Inventory, Sexual Arousal Inventory, and Double Standard Scale. Exploratory factorial analysis showed three factors which explained 45.56% of total variance, nevertheless, this solution reflects a methodological artifact due to items redaction. For this reason, original unifactorial structure of the scale was maintained, which reaches an internal consistency reliability value equals .89. No statistically significant differences between men and women were found on the total score, but were found on 11 items. Furthermore, sexual satisfaction positively correlates with dyadic sexual desire and with sexual arousability, and negatively with sexual double standard. The Spanish version of the Index of Sexual Satisfaction shows appropriate reliability and validity indexes, nevertheless, more studies analyzing item 13, which was problematic on this study, are needed.
