El trabajo de Enesco y Delval pretende apuntar a desarrollos recientes en el estudio del desarrollo humano que ponen en cuestión el enfoque innatista y modularista dominante. En mi comentario, trato de distinguir entre los diferentes argumentos en que se basa ese enfoque dominante, mostrando su diversidad interna, para valorar si los elementos que aportan los autores son suficientes o no para contrarrestar tales argumentos. Aun coincidiendo con ellos en la inadecuación de este marco general, algunos aspectos de su discusión me parecen insuficientes. En particular, que las diferentes críticas puedan confluir en una alternativa coherente.
Enesco and Delval's paper reviews recent work in the area of human development questioning current dominant innatist and modularist orthodoxy. In my commentary, I purport to distinguish between the different elements that converge in this orthodoxy -showing their internal diversity- in order to asses to what extent their arguments are undermined by the work reviewed by Enesco and Delval. Although I agree with them on the inadequacy of this general framework, some aspects of their discussion are not convincing. Namely, I doubt whether the different criticisms can come together into a coherent alternative.
