La reducción de las repercusiones psicológicas en pacientes sometidos a estudios genéticos es un objetivo de todo el equipo. Para ello, vamos a requerir, no solo de una metodología de evaluación y tratamiento psicológico específico para Consejo Genético, sino además, de las habilidades de comunicación y contención emocional por parte de los miembros de las unidades de consejo genético. Por ello, el carácter interdisciplinar en el abordaje médico y emocional del paciente, al igual que ocurre en el campo de la Oncología y Cuidados Paliativos, también se requiere en el área asistencial del Consejo Genético.
The reduction of the psychological repercussions in subjected patients to genetic studies is an objective of the whole team. We need an evaluation methodology and specific psychological treatment for Genetic Counselling, and the communication abilities and emotional contention on the part of the members of the units of genetic counselling. Therefore, as it happens in the field of the Oncology and Palliative Cares, the character interdisciplinary in the patient's medical and emotional treatment is necessary in the assistance area of the Genetic Council.
