This article presents the results of a qualitative study on honour-based violenceconducted with a mixed sample of eleven survivors recruited in north-eastern Spain, all of whom had been subjected to different manifestations of this form of violence and who come from diverse backgrounds. Drawing on their narratives, the research aims to determine the most appropriate institutional approach to addressing this process of de-victimisation from a survivor-centred perspective. It does so by examining how survivors perceive and assess the institutional approaches undertaken for this purpose and what they consider the ideal response to be in order to support their recovery and the re-establishment of control over their lives. The findings make it possible to identify the key elements that hinder or facilitate the process of devictimisation, as well as to formulate proposals for reorienting public policies and professional practices towards intervention models that are more consistent with the needs and expectations of survivors of honour-based violence.
