This research aims to analyze the relationship between coping strategies and anxiety in adolescents in an educational unit of Ambato. The approach of the study is quantitative, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptiveand correlational type of research. Data were collected through a sociodemographic form, the Adolescent Coping Scale (ACS), and the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI). As a result, the only statistically significant correlation was obtained between the coping strategy “Ignoring the problem” and anxiety levels, with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.168 (p < .05) in conclusion, it was evidenced thatadolescents who tend to avoid problematic situations present higher levels of anxiety.
