Background: Gender-based violence among women with severe mental illness (SMI) is prevalent and under-recognized, contributing to complex trauma, extreme vulne-rability and fragmented care. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of Empower Your Mind, an integrative group psychotherapeutic intervention combining psychodrama, feminist self-de-fense and bodily empowerment, in women with SMI who have experienced gender-ba-sed violence. Method: Quasi-experimental mixed-methods pre–post study without control group (n=39). The intervention comprised 13 weekly closed-group sessions (90 min). Me-asures included Self-Concept Form-5, SCL-90-R and the Rathus Assertiveness Scale; se-mi-structured interviews were conducted pre/post. Results: Physical self-concept improved, depressive symptoms decreased and emotional awareness increased. Qualitative findings showed transformative changes in bodily self-concept, coping/defensive capacity and future outlook. Conclusions: An embodied, self-defense–enhanced integrative group intervention can improve empowerment-related outcomes and clinically relevant symptoms in women with SMI and gender-based violence histories
