El objetivo del estudio fue determinar evidencias de validez y fiabilidad de dos escalas de estigma de peso internalizado. El primer estudio describió una fase cualitativa con el desarrollo de la Escala Estigma de Peso Internalizado (EEPI-11) y una fase cuantitativa con análisis factorial exploratorio y confirmatorio en estudiantes universitarios (n=773), demostrándose una estructura unifactorial, excelentes indicadores de bondad de ajuste (χ2=78.181 (44); p=.001; CFI=.992; TLI=.989; RMSEA=.044; SRMR=.060), α=.900, ω=.905 y adecuada validez convergente. El segundo estudio consistió en una fase cuantitativa que demostró una estructura unifactorial con ocho de diez ítems de Weight Bias Internalization Scale (WBIS). El modelo reespecificado tuvo buenos indicadores de bondad de ajuste (χ2=29.944 (20); p=.071; CFI=.996; TLI=.995;
RMSEA=.036; SRMR=.062), α=.908, ω=.906, y adecuada validez convergente.
The aim of this study was to provide evidence of validity and reliability for two scales measuring internalized weight stigma. The first study described a qualitative phase involving the development of the Internalized Weight Stigma Scale (EEPI-11), and a quantitative phase with exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses conducted on university students (n=773). The results indicated a unidimensional structure, showing excellent goodness-of-fit indices (χ2=78.181 (44); p=.001; CFI=.992; TLI=.989; RMSEA=.044; SRMR=.060), α=.900, ω=.905 and adequate convergent validity. The second study demonstrated a unidimensional structure with eight of ten items of the Weight Bias Internalization Scale (WBIS). The respecified model showed good goodness-of-fit indices (χ2=29.944 (20); p=.071; CFI=.996; TLI=.995; RMSEA=.036; SRMR=.062), α=.908, and ω=.906, and adequate convergent validity.
