O presente estudo visou desenvolver a versão portuguesa da Forms of Responding to Self-Critical Thoughts Scale (FoReST-PT) e estudar a sua estrutura fatorial e características psicométricas numa amostra de 235 indivíduos portugueses, com o intuito de avaliar a flexibilidade psicológica na resposta a pensamentos autocríticos. O modelo de dois fatores da FoReST-PT mostrou um bom ajustamento (X2=41.373; df=25;
The current study aimed to develop the Portuguese version of the Forms of Responding to Self-Critical Thoughts Scale (FoReST-PT) and to study its factor structure and psychometric properties in a sample of 235 Portuguese participants, to assess psychological flexibility in responding to self-critical thoughts. The FoReSTPT two-factor model showed a good fit (X2=41.373; df=25; CFI=.983; TLI=.975; RMSEA=.053;
SRMR=.034; ECVI=.423), considering the factors unworkable action and mindful acceptance. The multigroup analyses proved to be invariant by gender. The FoReST-PT showed good internal consistency and testretest reliability. Correlations with other variables revealed convergent validity and showed incremental validity. There were no differences between men and women in the FoReST-PT scores. The FoReST-PT proved to be a valid and reliable instrument to assess psychological flexibility to deal with self-critical thinking.
