In this article, we review the logic of the functions proposed by Vladimir Propp in his Morpholigy of he Folk Tale with the aim of recovering, clarifying, and formally reconstructing his Variable Scheme, which has been misrepresented in the main translations and editions after the original. Through a meticulous philological comparison between the original Russian editions (1928 and 1969) and their versions, we document key structurally coherent version, highlighting the parallelism between the two paths proposed by Propp -the sequence of combat and victory versus the sequence of the difficult lask- and the axes of Deprivation and Law, formulated in the Theory of Text proposed by Jesús González Requena. This allows us to rethink the applicability of Propp´s scheme to the study of narrative structure, restoring it as a fundamental tool for its analysis.
