Pretendo mostrar —más que demostrar— que el personaje de Hamlet refleja con bastante precisión al hombre posmoderno. Contra la mayoría de las tesis que ven en Hamlet un paradigma de la modernidad, trazaré un viaje ficticio del personaje que lo catapulta desde su tiempo a la posmodernidad sin apenas pasar por la modernidad, con un avituallamiento fundamental en el romanticismo alemán e incluso viajando al pasado de la Grecia sofista. Esto se verá a la luz de dos temas, el amor y la religión en Hamlet. Don Quijote será antorcha en este artículo.
I intend to show —rather than prove— that the character of Hamlet reflects quite accurately the postmodern man. Against most of the theses that see in Hamlet a paradigm of modernity, I will trace a fictional journey of the character that catapults him from his time to postmodernity without hardly passing through modernity, making a fundamental avant-garde in German romanticism and even traveling to the past of sophist Greece. This will be seen in the light of two themes, love and religion in Hamlet. Don Quixote will be a torch in this article.
