    El artículo presenta una visión integral sobre el potencial de la neuropsicología forense para fortalecer el sistema de justicia penal en América Latina. Se enfatiza la necesidad de validación cultural y científica de las técnicas neuropsicológicas para que sus resultados sean aplicables y confiables en contextos judiciales latinoamericanos. Además, sugiere que el fortalecimiento y creación de alianzas entre universidades, instituciones judiciales y organismos internacionales son esenciales para impulsar programas de cooperación regional e internacional que permitan intercambiar conocimientos y buenas prácticas. Respecto a la infraestructura institucional, debería ampliarse el alcance y reconocimiento de unidades específicas en órganos clave como la Fiscalía y los Servicios Médicos Legales integrando la neuropsicología forense como un componente fundamental en la evaluación de casos de violencia, daño cerebral, y capacidad jurídica. El artículo subraya que la inversión en investigación, capacitación especializada y el establecimiento de protocolos claros son decisivos para la contribución efectiva de la neuropsicología forense.

    This article presents a comprehensive view of the potential of forensic neuropsychology to strengthen the criminal justice system in Latin America. It emphasizes the need for cultural and scientific validation of neuropsychological techniques to ensure their results are applicable and reliable in Latin American judicial contexts.

    Furthermore, it suggests that strengthening and creating alliances among universities, judicial institutions, and international organizations are essential to promoting regional and international cooperation programs that facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices.

    Regarding institutional infrastructure, the scope and recognition of specific units within key bodies such as the Public Prosecutor's Office and Forensic Medical Services should be expanded, integrating forensic neuropsychology as a fundamental component in the evaluation of cases involving violence, brain injury, and legal capacity.

    The article underscores that investment in research, specialized training, and the establishment of clear protocols are crucial for the effective contribution of forensic neuropsychology.
