Este trabajo realiza un análisis teórico del proceso cognitivo desde el enfoque de las neurociencias, prestando especial atención a las funciones ejecutivas y su relación con la Psicomotricidad. Partiendo de una revisión bibliográfica exhaustiva, el estudio aborda la evolución del concepto de neurociencia desde sus primeras formulaciones hasta la actualidad, examinando el desarrollo de las funciones ejecutivas y su correlato psicomotor. El análisis se estructura en torno a dos ejes fundamentales: la funcionalidad de los sistemas sensoriales y sus manifestaciones corporales, siempre desde la perspectiva de la psicomotricidad. Las reflexiones ofrecen aportaciones relevantes para la práctica profesional del psicomotricista, tanto en el ámbito clínico como educativo. El artículo concluye con una reflexión sobre la importancia del enfoque psicomotor en la configuración de las funciones ejecutivas.
This article presents a theoretical analysis of the cognitive process from the perspective of neuroscience, with particular attention to executive functions and their relationship with psychomotricity. Based on a comprehensive review of the literature, the study addresses the evolution of the concept of neuroscience from its earliest formulations to the present day, examining the development of executive functions and their related psychomotor aspects. The analysis is structured around two fundamental axes: the functionality of sensory systems and their bodily manifestations, always from a psychomotor perspective. The reflections offer relevant contributions to the professional practice of the psychomotricist, both in clinical and educational settings. The article concludes with a reflection on the importance of the psychomotor approach in the development of executive functions.
