La mirada del animal investiga la relación de dos pensamientos significativos del último siglo. Interroga la posición de Derrida en su cuestionamiento al lugar denegado al animal en la filosofía occidental y, al mismo tiempo, pone en consideración los conceptos formalizados por el discurso psicoanalítico de Lacan en relación con la imagen en el campo escópico y la mirada como objeto para el ser hablante.
The animal’s gaze explores the relation between two major strands of twentieth-century thought. It examines Derrida’s position in his questioning of the place denied to the animal within Western philosophy, while also bringing into consideration the concepts formalized by Lacan’s psychoanalytic discourse concerning the image in the scopic field and the gaze as an object for the speaking being.
