Este estudio tiene como objetivo analizar las motivaciones y experiencias asociadas al consumo de benzodiazepinas en jóvenes de la Comunidad de Madrid, con edades entre 25-34 años, que han utilizado estas sustancias en los últimos 12 meses. A través de entrevistas semiestructuradas a 20 participantes, se exploraron los factores que influyen en su consumo, la percepción de riesgos y las estrategias de autocuidado adoptadas. Los hallazgos evidencian una falta de in-formación inicial sobre los efectos adversos y un aprendizaje autodirigido. Se concluye que la accesibilidad y la normalización del consumo facilitan su continuidad, subrayando la necesidad de intervenciones educativas para promover un uso informado y responsable.
This study aims to analyze the motivations and experiences associated with the use of benzodiazepines in young people from the Community of Madrid, aged between 25-34 years, who have used these substances in the past 12 months. Through semi-structured interviews with 20 participants, the research explores the factors influencing their consumption, their perception of risks, and the self-care strategies they adopt. Findings reveal an initial lack of awareness regarding adverse effects and a self-directed learning process. The study concludes that accessibility and the normalization of use contribute to its persistence, high-lighting the need for educational interventions to promote informed and respon-sible use.
