Se describe la Clasificación Internacional de Cuidados de Salud Mental (International Classification on Mental Health Care), elaborada por un grupo de la Universidad de Groningen, con el apoyo de la OMS, que tiene como objetivo servir de Instrumento para describir y clasificar los cuidados en salud mental; siendo de gran Utilidad para cualquier estudio que precise comunicar de manera estandarizada los cuidados que los servicios ofrecen a los usuarios. Con tal herramienta se pretende facilitar las comparaciones entre escenarios distintos y. sobre todo, a nivel internacional. La descripción se completa con algunos ejemplos de aplicación del utensilio.
La última versión de la ICMHC, de diciembre de 1986, ha sido traducida en colaboración por equipos de las universidades de Cádiz y Granada.
The International Classification of Mental Health Care (ICMHC) is described. It has been elaborated by a group of the University of Groningen, with the support of the WHO, and it is aimed to serve as an instrument to describe and classify the types of care in mental health; it is of great usefulness for any study that wants to use a standardized way of evaluating the modalities of care that services offer to users. Such a tool facilitates the comparisons among different places and, above all, on an international level. The description is completed with some examples of application of the instrument.
The last version of the ICMHC. of December, 1986, has been translated cooperatively by teams of the universities of Cádiz and Granada.
