Resumo Tendo em vista o aumento do número de casos de suicídio entre adolescentes no Brasil, o artigo discorre sobre o arcabouço teórico dessa temática ao longo das obras de Freud e de Lacan. Posteriormente, o texto aborda o traçado pulsional da adolescência e esboça algumas hipóteses sobre quais características do laço social contemporâneo podem contribuir para o aumento do número de casos de tentativa de autoextermínio e autolesão entre jovens. Finalmente, interroga como é possível manejar os casos dos jovens que apresentam essa urgência e gravidade.
Abstract Considering the increase in the number of suicide cases among teenagers in Brazil, the article discusses the theoretical framework of this theme throughout the works of Freud and Lacan. Subsequently, the text addresses the drive path of adolescence and outlines some hypotheses about which characteristics of contemporary social bonds may contribute to increasing the number of cases of attempted self-extermination and self-injury among young people. Finally, we ask it is possible to deal with the cases of young people who present this urgency and severity.
