Resumo Através da construção e análise de um caso clínico, este artigo propõe situar a clínica do idoso em processo de adoecimento como possível em psicanálise. Apresenta-se a construção do caso de um paciente atendido no ambulatório de um hospital público, referência em oncologia. Sob a evolução do arcabouço teórico da psicanálise e com a inclusão do atendimento a idosos por uma clínica possível, passa-se pelas implicações do envelhecimento e adoecimento do corpo. Articula-se no texto a ideia do desamparo e do trauma como atravessamento na posição subjetiva do paciente, considerando que a realidade psíquica não tem idade, além da indestrutibilidade do desejo.
Abstract The present work proposes, through the construction and analysis of a clinical case, to situate the clinic of the elderly in the process of illness as possible in psychoanalysis. The construction of the case of a patient treated in an outpatient clinic of a public hospital, a reference in oncology, is presented. Under the evolution of the theoretical framework of psychoanalysis, with the inclusion of care for the elderly through a possible clinic, one goes through the implications of aging and illness in the body. It is considered that the unconscious has no age, but bodies do and, even if organically reached, it continues to be an instinctual body and, therefore, affected by experiences of satisfaction and dissatisfaction, through which illness passes
