Abstract In this article, I make comments on the Lacanian opposition between the affect of sadness and gai savoir, the joyous knowledge, based on a passage of Television in which Lacan develops his brief theory of affects. The route of this commentary comprises the following steps: a revision of the main aspects at stake in this brief theory of affects exposed in Television; a discussion of the sketch in which, in this same context, gai savoir is mentioned by Lacan; an intent to build bridges between this Lacanian version of gai savoir and the Brazilian joyous knowledge mentioned by José Miguel Wisnik in his essay The joyous knowledge: literature and popular music in Brazil.
Resumo Neste artigo, comento a oposição lacaniana entre o afeto da tristeza e o gaio saber, a partir de uma passagem de Televisão em que Lacan elabora uma breve teoria dos afetos. O percurso do comentário compreende os seguintes passos: uma revisão dos principais aspectos em jogo nessa breve teoria dos afetos exposta em Televisão; uma discussão do trecho em que, nesse mesmo contexto, o gaio saber é mencionado por Lacan; um ensaio de aproximação entre essa versão lacaniana do gaio saber e a “gaia ciência brasileira” a que se refere José Miguel Wisnik em seu ensaio A gaia ciência: literatura e música popular no Brasil.
