En este artículo se abordan las nociones sobre masculinidades, sus malestares y desafíos actuales, con el fin de problematizar la teoría y la clínica psicoanalíticas. Se rastrean enunciados de permanencia y otros que tienden a una modificación, producto de la relación entre teoría y clínica psicoanalítica con el entramado social. Se postula una conceptualización en torno a las masculinidades, destacando la cualidad del plural, que se vincula con diferentes formas de devenir varón, aportando al mismo tiempo una experiencia subjetiva, social y cultural. Finalmente, se discute cómo el psicoanálisis puede dialogar de forma dinámica con estos malestares a fin de revisar algunos enunciados de permanencia y proponer otros.
