Los Premios Nacionales de Psicología se instituyeron en 1991 por el Colegio de Psicólogos del Perú, institución que los otorga y que se creó el 30 de abril de 1980 y que a la fecha congrega a más de 54 mil psicólogos colegiados en todo el país. A su vez, el Colegio de Psicólogos del Perú se crea con el Decreto Ley N° 23019 a partir de la Sociedad Peruana de Psicología, que desde su creación el 18 de febrero de 1954 albergó a diversos profesionales, preferentemente psiquiatras, educadores, filósofos y abogados; que cultivaron su interés por la psicología a través de publicaciones como libros y artículos que aparecieron en el Perú y el extranjero (Jáuregui, 2023).
The National Psychology Awards were established in 1991 by the College of Psychologists of Peru, an institution that awards them and was created on April 30, 1980 and which to date brings together more than 54 thousand registered psychologists throughout the country.
