In the last years the branch of the scientific researches has been developed continuously, through these one has in the present days a rich collection referring to the diverse forms of use of the plants, be of medicinal forms, ethnobotanical knowledge, among others, bringing to the surface the importance of this branch of science. One of the families that have a great biodiversity is Arecaceae, and one of its most studied genera is Mauritia, considering that it has several species that are used in several biological and chemical areas. Faced with this wide field of research already developed, this work aimed to organize and group such research and collections on the subject, so as to separate them into topics that can express the singularities of the species belonging to the genus Mauritia. This work deals with a scientific research, of bibliographic order, being a qualitative descriptive research. The methodology used consisted of analyzing the contents, conducting a pre-analysis where the ideas were systematized, then developed an exploration of the material and finally a treatment of the material was carried out. Therefore, six categories were selected that already have researches and results to serve as the basis for the analyzes, these having as characteristics its importance and contribution to the scientific community in general. Through this the genus Mauritia shows to possess an abundant morphological diversity, as much as chemistry, thus being a good branch to be researched and serving to direct to new studies.

Nos últimos anos tem-se desenvolvido continuamente o ramo das pesquisas científicas, através destas tem-se atualmente um rico acervo referente às diversas formas de utilização das plantas, sejam de formas medicinais, conhecimentos etnobotânicos, entre outros, trazendo à tona a importância deste ramo da ciência. Uma das famílias que possuem uma grande biodiversidade é a Arecaceae, e um de seus gêneros mais estudados é Mauritia, tendo em vista que ele possui diversas espécies que são utilizadas em diversas áreas biológicas e químicas. Frente a este amplo campo de pesquisas já desenvolvidas, este trabalho teve como objetivo organizar e agrupar tais pesquisas e acervos dispostos acerca do tema, de maneira a separá-los em tópicos que possam expressar as singularidades das espécies pertencentes ao gênero Mauritia. Este trabalho trata-se de uma pesquisa científica, de ordem bibliográfica, sendo uma pesquisa de cunho qualitativo descritiva. A metodologia utilizada consistiu em analisar os conteúdos, conduzir uma pré-análise onde as ideias foram sistematizadas, sendo desenvolvida em seguida uma exploração do material e por fim realizou-se um tratamento do material. Logo, foram selecionadas seis categorias que já possuem pesquisas e resultados para servirem de base para as análises, estas tendo como características sua importância e contribuição para a comunidade científica em geral. Mediante este o gênero Mauritia mostra possuir uma abundante diversidade morfológica, tanto como química, assim sendo um bom ramo a ser pesquisado e servindo para direcionar a novos estudos.
