  This article discusses the celebration of the cultural festival Mboatawa of the Tenharim people, held in the Tenharim Marmelos Indigenous Land from July 16 to 20, 2024. The event brought together Tenharim, Parintintin, and Jiahui villages, highlighting the significance of the festival as a moment of cultural resistance and preservation of traditions. The preparation for the festival involved collective mobilization and the performance of rituals in honor of the deceased. The program included traditional dances, weddings, and the participation of hunters who contributed to the event's food supply. The research was enriched by interviews with village members, who emphasized the importance of Mboatawa in the transmission of cultural knowledge and the maintenance of the people’s identity. The analysis emphasizes the importance of the festival in preserving culture, food traditions, and in shaping collective identity, while also highlighting the challenges faced by indigenous peoples in a contemporary context.

  O presente artigo aborda a celebração da festa cultural Mboatawa do povo Tenharin, realizada na Terra Indígena Tenharim Marmelos, entre os dias 16 e 20 de julho de 2024. O evento reuniu aldeias Tenharim, Parintintin e Jiahui, destacando a importância da festa como um momento de resistência cultural e preservação das tradições. A preparação para a festa envolveu a mobilização coletiva e a realização de rituais em homenagem aos falecidos. A programação incluiu danças tradicionais, casamentos e a participação de caçadores que contribuíram com a alimentação da festividade. A pesquisa foi enriquecida por entrevistas com membros da aldeia, que ressaltaram a relevância do Mboatawa na transmissão de saberes culturais e na manutenção da identidade do povo. A análise enfatiza a importância da festa na preservação da cultura, das tradições alimentares e na formação da identidade coletiva, ao mesmo tempo que ressalta os desafios enfrentados pelos povos indígenas em um contexto contemporâneo.
